POSITION TITLE: Child Care Assistant Teacher in Toddler Classroom: Substitute
Contract: Up to 30 hours/week, year-round (12 months)
Reports to: Lead Caregiver
Coordinates with: ELC Staff
POSITION SUMMARY
POSITION SUMMARY
The Child Care Assistant Substitute Teacher will support the Lead Caregiver in providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching learning environment for children between the ages of 18 months and three years old. Applicants must meet licensing requirements and possess a deep commitment to Christian education.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a safe, welcoming, enriching Christian environment
Treat all children with care and compassion
Promote a sense of belonging for all children in a safe, joyful, and engaging community
Support the implementation of faith-based, developmentally appropriate lesson plans
Cultivate appropriate relationships with families
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure developmentally appropriate learning activities for students
Complete a minimum of 16 hours of professional development annually
Uphold safety standards as outlined in the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Technical Assistance Manual
Promote GRCS’ Early Childhood programs and services
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED with relevant experience in working with young children preferred
CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to obtain, if offered a position
Complete and pass the state-required background check
Complete MiRegistry Health & Safety 1 & 2 training
Must be able to sit on the floor, stand, and move around for long periods of time
