Summary
Will maintain and renovate flooring materials including but not limited to carpet, ceramic tile, VCT, concrete, and wood using a variety of mechanical equipment including buffers, sweepers, scrubbers, and extractors while utilizing various chemicals typical of floor cleaning and renovation. Will work under the direction of the Custodial Supervisor to perform the day-to-day and periodic cleaning in assigned work areas, as specified by the contract.
Responsibilities
Sweeping
Vacuuming
Mopping
Strip and wax floors
Buff floors
Inspect floors for damage.
Repair floors as directed.
Remove trash/debris.
Operate floor care equipment.
Maintain cleaning equipment in good working condition.
Assists other facility staff as requested.
Safety
Works safely at all times and promptly informs management about unsafe conditions.
Wears personal protective equipment appropriate for the task being performed.
Adheres to proper security procedures.
Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience
High School Diploma
Minimum 1-year experience in floor care
Knowledge of operating various pieces of equipment necessary to effectively perform job functions, such as high-speed buffer, extractor, wet vac, pressure washer, and auto scrubber.
Ability to understand and follow directions from immediate supervisor.
Must pass a federal background check.
Must have driver's license.
