Job Description
Kleinfelder’s Design team is seeking a Staff Geotechnical Professional to join our team in either Raleigh, North Carolina or Charlotte, North Carolina.

Responsibilities
Assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in field assignments including boring layout and utility clearance.
Coordinate with drilling contractors, supervise drilling and geotechnical field investigations, and log borings and test pits.
Assist with lab testing assignments and compile lab and field testing results.
Perform geotechnical engineering analysis under supervision, including soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, and geologic hazard evaluation.
Prepare geotechnical reports.
Qualifications
4-8 years of geotechnical engineering or geology experience.
Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred).
Strong communication skills with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors.
60% to 70% travel required.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering, or Geology.
MS in Geotechnical Engineering/Geology is a plus.
