DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
Ensure compliance with Westlake Chemical’s EH&S rules, policies and programs
Review/keep electronic logbooks, understand Foxboro trends, and recognize critical loading/environmental parameters to ensure acceptable shipping performance
Champion Plant Safety Policies and Procedures
Strives to Keep Plant Environmentally Compliant
Demonstrate Leadership Ability
Ability to Support Management
Creating MOC’s to manage changes
Knowledgeable on DOT regulations and other regulatory compliance related to shipping material
Work with Transportation & Logistics, Customer Service, and Product Planners to coordinate loading schedules and capabilities
ISO Compliance
Handling customer concerns and complaints
Potential involvement in customer visits and assessments
Working with OMC to organize maintenance work
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent and seven years of shipping and/or operations experience
Self‑Motivated
Willing to Support and Train Personnel
Exceptional Decision‑Making Ability
Great Communication Skills
Trouble‑shooting Capabilities
Works well in a team environment and able to make effective decisions
Ability to Work with Other Departments in Plant (Maintenance, Traffic, Production Units, etc.)
Knowledge of Policies and Procedures
Computer Literate
Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre‑employment physical requirements before starting work.
A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
