Job Summary
This position is located in the Office of the Associate Deputy Administrator, Strategy and Policy, Veterinary Services (VS). You will serve as the Chief of Staff, with supervisory responsibility for several Management Analysts that support the Associate Deputy Administrator and Executive Director on sensitive national VS policy issues.
Responsibilities
Supervise subordinates for more than 25% of the time, including recruitment, selection, appraisal, reward, and performance issue resolution.
Advise the Associate Deputy Administrator and Executive Director on policy development, operational planning, and day‑to‑day management of program operations.
Review and evaluate a broad range of policy and program management issues and concerns.
Plan, implement, and coordinate special projects and studies of interest concerning all phases of program operations.
Help make and communicate critical policy and program management decisions and prepare narratives or reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
Serve as a committee member involved in organizing and facilitating the efforts of multiple task groups or teams focused on implementation of major program initiatives.
Write broad range of information documents critical to policy and decision‑making processes, under tight deadlines.
Develop a clear understanding of each unit to facilitate efficient information transfer between units and beyond SP.
Research, analyze, and write materials related to cross‑program issues or those lacking clear program direction.
