Job Description
Qualifications:
3‑5 years bookkeeping experience
Minimum high school diploma (post‑secondary education preferred)
Excellent computer & database skills
Excellent customer service skills
Essential Functions:
Serve as a liaison between the Finance Department and School Administrators and School Bookkeepers.
Train new bookkeepers and review monthly receipts and disbursement reports for accuracy.
Notify bookkeepers of errors and advise corrective actions to ensure compliance with auditing guidelines.
Prepare routine correspondences, compile information for reports, and maintain the school‑based accounting database.
Act as the primary fill‑in at schools when a bookkeeper is on extended leave.
Schedule routine meetings with the Finance Director and school bookkeepers to report revisions or updates to the Wilson County Accounting Manual and review annual audit reports.
Prepare and maintain the accuracy of the Wilson County Accounting Manual to comply with the Department of Education Internal School Uniform Accounting Policy Manual.
Prepare and maintain inventory listings for all facilities and departments of fixed assets, including land, buildings, machinery, equipment, construction in progress, and infrastructures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
This is a full‑time, 12‑month (260 days) assignment with insurance and retirement benefits. Salary will be no less than $43,906 per year.
