Summary
The Assistant Operations Manager - Housekeeping will support the overseeing of any area in the Rooms Division with a focus in the Housekeeping Department. This individual will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of the entire housekeeping area, to include public areas and night cleaning. This requires a solid understanding of housekeeping and laundry supplies and processes and will assure all safety and security policies and procedures are followed. Experience with turndown service, special needs of VIP Guests, etc is helpful. These responsibilities may also include staff training, development and scheduling. They will also promote an atmosphere that ensures customer and associate satisfaction. This position reports directly to the Executive Housekeeper and requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively deal with guests, other departments and team members. Additionally, they must be capable of administering Housekeeping operations to ensure overall cleanliness and product quality of the hotel in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial accountability.
Ensure and maintain cleanliness, service and product quality standards of guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms in accordance with federal, local and company health, sanitation and safety standards.
Lead, direct and administer Housekeeping operations to include, but not limited to, of systems use and management, inventory control, employee relations management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation.
Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with our Hotel's policies, legal and regulatory requirements.
Interviews, hires and trains employees; plans, schedules, assigns, and directs work; evaluates performance; conducts counseling and evaluations, delivering recognition and reward, disciplines employees; provides professional development, addresses complaints and solves problems.
Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for colleagues and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with federal, state, and local company regulations.
Participate in the coordination of rehabilitation and capital improvement projects in partnership with the Director of Engineering and other departments.
Other tasks/duties as assigned by Executive Housekeeper or Director of Rooms.
Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
Rooms leadership experience preferred
Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service
Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
