Summary
Join Woodwell’s 2026 Summer Internship Program as an Intern, Event Planning Coordinator within our President’s Office and Development. As an intern at the Center, you will gain overall knowledge of the Center’s scientific and operational programs and develop practical skills while working with your team.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and logistical support, assisting with all aspects of event planning including pre‑event preparation, on‑site execution, and post‑event follow‑up.
Coordinate vendors, set up and break down, register attendees, and ensure the smooth running of events.
Track completion of tasks, deadlines, and details related to vendors.
Gain practical experience by working on projects and tasks within research and/or operations.
Network with professionals in the field of interest, including mentors, managers, and other interns.
Participate and learn about the Center’s scientific disciplines and operational programs through staff meetings and other employee engagement activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Graphic design experience or coursework.
Communications and marketing coursework and background.
Strong problem‑solving and quick decision‑making skills.
Willingness and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Open to receiving guidance from experienced professionals and learning new techniques and tools.
Reliable internet/wifi access if the role is hybrid.
Qualifications
Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program taking relevant coursework within Marketing, Graphic Design, and/or Communications, or a recent graduate.
Reliable internet/wifi access required for hybrid work.
Additional Information
Location: Falmouth, Massachusetts – Onsite or Hybrid.
Hours of work: Typically up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Classification and Compensation: Full‑time, temporary, hourly, non‑exempt position. Salary $15/hour. Internship will not exceed more than 90 days.
Desired start date: Monday, June 8, 2025 through August 14, 2025.
