Foster Care Placement Supervisor
One Full-Time Position. 40 hours per week.
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Included in On Call rotation. Schedule and hours are flexible based on program needs.
Hiring Range: $30.10 - $32.81 / hr., depending upon education and experience.
This position will remain open until filled.
Minimum Requirements
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral sciences.
Three (3) years full time child placement experience obtained after the bachelor's degree was conferred. (if candidate has a master’s degree in social or behavioral sciences, candidate must have a minimum of one (1) year of child placement experience.)
Preferred:
MSW, LCSW, LSW.
Current Structured Analysis Family Evaluation (SAFE) Certification.
Child Welfare supervision experience.

Position Summary
The Placement Supervisor is responsible for coordinating placements, assigning SAFEs, overseeing case managers and program specialists, and assisting the Program Manager in program operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide training, supervision, and support to TFC team to ensure compliance with agency standards and volume 7 regulations.
Provide direct supervision of assigned employees within the program by assisting the manager in interviewing, hiring; conducting performance appraisals; preparing and/or recommending disciplinary action or corrective action plans and rewards for employees.
Be knowledgeable in and assist manager in maintaining financial viability and balanced budget.
Complete monthly reports and participate in peer review of assigned reports.
Assist Foster Care Manager in all tasks regarding referrals and placements of foster children.
Assist the Director/Manager in developing and implementing new and existing programs.
Actively participate in program evaluation, ensure program quality assurance and development.
Represent Ariel Clinical Services by acting as a liaison to local human service agencies and state level agencies, as required.
Complete Structured Analysis Family Evaluation (SAFE) Studies and updates, as assigned.
Participate in ongoing program evaluation to ensure program effectiveness. Certify foster care homes and place children in foster care homes with strict adherence to federal, state, county and agency policies, rules and regulations and ensure safety of children in Ariel’s care.
Negotiate foster care provider and case management rates between Ariel and the Department of Human Services.
Assists in the recruitment, screening, coordination, and execution of training for prospective foster families.
Delegate responsibilities and ensure follow-through for the department.
Act as the first line of crisis assistance/problem solving/assisting with case mangers when assistance is needed.
Perform the duties of the Case Manager position description as needed.

Must work closely with other Ariel Programs and offices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with all records and information.
The ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written format in both individual and group settings.
Ability to be flexible, and able to change direction rapidly.
Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, complete a wide variety of tasks in a timely and accurate fashion and direct others, as needed.
Basic computer knowledge.
Ability to anticipate, conceptualize and communicate an individual’s unique needs with the interdisciplinary team.
Exercise independent judgment within the scope and boundaries of the department, the Agency’s Standard Operating Procedures, and Federal, State and Local Rules and Regulations regarding department operations.
Knowledge of human development regarding major milestones of development, and normal development parameters.
Ability to provide reliable, insured transportation for self and others through the community served.
Ability to demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance as scheduled and requested.
Education and Experience

Provides leadership guidance and direction to Case Managers and Case Management Aides.
Physical Demands
This position requires that the incumbent be capable of walking, bending, standing, sitting, stooping, stretching, and/or reaching regularly for periods up to two hours without a break.
This position requires that the incumbent have adequate hand and finger dexterity to properly perform the functions of the position.
This position requires lifting regularly up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
This position requires the ability to hear, see, smell and distinguish temperature, at a level which is adequate to ensure client and staff health and safety. Adaptive devices are acceptable.
This position will require daily driving of up to one hour per day and occasionally up to eight hours per day.
Climbing may be required from time to time.
Work Environment
Exposure to typical climate-controlled office environment when in the office.
Exposure to all climates and weather conditions while working in the field.
At times, physical interventions may be required.
Exposure to blood borne pathogens and infectious disease is possible but limited.
Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible but limited.
