Custodian
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing warehouse environment. This role supports daily operations by ensuring production areas, workspaces, and common areas meet cleanliness and safety standards, helping to prevent hazards and maintain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, locker rooms, and office areas
Sweep, mop, and maintain warehouse floors, including production and storage areas
Remove debris, dust, and waste from workstations, aisles, and loading docks
Empty trash, scrap, and recycling containers; ensure proper disposal of materials
Support spill cleanup, including oil, grease, or chemical spills following safety protocols
Restock facility supplies such as paper products, soap, and safety materials
Assist with maintaining clear walkways, emergency exits, and work zones
Perform basic facility maintenance (e.g., replacing lights, reporting equipment or structural issues)
Clean around machinery and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines (lockout/tagout awareness as applicable)
Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and industrial vacuums
Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Previous custodial or warehouse cleaning experience preferred
Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and chemicals is a plus
Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a fast-paced environment
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Time management and reliability
Basic understanding of warehouse operations and hazards
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
Comfortable working in varying temperatures, noise levels, and industrial conditions
Work Environment:
Manufacturing/warehouse setting with exposure to machinery, dust, noise, and moving equipment (e.g., forklifts)
May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and steel-toe boots
