Trade Compliance Manager
Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager on an interim to permanent basis.

Overview
We are seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to work in the global manufacturing and solutions industry. Company: A global industrial manufacturer of aluminum. Experience: 6+ years of experience with Trade Compliance and classification. Location: Hybrid (Chicagoland, IL).

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement trade strategies that align with the company’s business objectives and support global operations.

Trade Compliance: Ensure compliance with all international trade laws and regulations, including import/export requirements, customs regulations, and trade agreements. Develop policies and procedures to mitigate risks associated with global trade.

Vendor and Carrier Management: Manage relationships with freight forwarders and customs brokers. Negotiate contracts and service agreements to achieve the best value and performance. Lead Quarterly Business Reviews with Brokers and Freight Forwarders.

Cost Management: Monitor and control international logistics and trade-related costs, implementing cost‑saving initiatives and strategies to achieve financial targets.

Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of international logistics and trade operations. Use data‑driven insights to make improvements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of trade professionals. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Risk Management: Identify and manage risks related to international logistics and trade, including supply chain disruptions, compliance issues, and geopolitical factors. Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions.

Technology Integration: Evaluate and implement trade management technologies and tools to enhance visibility, control, and efficiency in operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.

Customs Broker License or Certified Customs Specialist.

6+ years of experience in Trade Compliance role within an aluminum or manufacturing background to assist with classifications.

Demonstrated expertise and experience with trade compliance regulations, operational processes, purchasing procedures, incoterms, and international logistics.

Pay Rate
$85
