Lead Secretary (Building)
The lead secretary provides administrative assistant support to the daily operation of the school building.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Prior job-related experiences, paid or voluntary, with school-age children Prior job-related experiences paid or voluntary with office management Proficiency in proofreading and typing assessment
Responsibilities
Manage employee workforce time and attendance for all building employees. Manage guest teacher schedules, assignments, and instructional material needs. Manage paraprofessional assignments and schedules. Schedule guest teacher for teacher absences Facilitate communications from the principal to all staff. Perform routine clerical tasks; Understand and carry out oral and written directions; Participate in in-service education, conferences, or formal classes related to assignments; Show initiative when working with children or using materials; Maintain cooperative, effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work; Maintain confidentiality of student records; Meet schedules and deadlines; Facilitate communications from principal to all community. Maintain calendars. Facilitate the scheduling of meetings/interviews with administrators. Print, collate, and mail report cards. Maintain website. Publish weekly newsletter. Create and maintain staff directory and call lists. Manage all student scheduling, transcripts, and attendance. Maintain and record all digital documents, confidential files, and correspondence. Manage multiple fund accounts including credit cards. Perform and manage usual office routines. Perform the essential duties of other secretarial positions in their absence. Assist in additional clerical duties as assigned by the Principal.
Physical Requirements
Sitting, standing, lifting, and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, must be able to see and hear the entire classroom, and moving light furniture may be required.

Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions.

Terms of employment: Hourly rate and work year per Mattawan Educational Support Association collective bargaining agreement.
