About the Role
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
Manage a high-volume portfolio of consumer and commercial collection files from placement through resolution, including post-judgment enforcement
Draft and file legal documents including complaints, motions, garnishments, writs of execution, and stipulations of settlement
Establish close working relationships with attorneys, clients, creditors, and debtors to ensure cooperative and timely resolution of matters
Review and analyze loan agreements, promissory notes, security agreements, and related banking documentation
Coordinate all aspects of court filings, including electronic filing in state and magisterial district courts
Prepare and file motions, proofs of claim, and other documents in bankruptcy court
Monitor deadlines including statutes of limitations, response dates, and judgment renewal requirements across an active caseload
Handle debtor communications in strict compliance with the FDCPA, FCRA, and applicable Pennsylvania collection regulations
Assist with UCC searches, UCC-1 financing statements, and related secured transactions documentation
Support foreclosure and mortgage default matters, including preparation of notices, affidavits, and payoff demands
Prepare discovery, hearing binders, and trial preparation materials as directed by supervising attorneys
Maintain accurate and current case records, billing entries, and client status reports
Qualifications
Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
3+ years of paralegal experience in banking, collections, or creditor-side litigation
Experience with court filings and electronic filing platforms in Pennsylvania state courts
Proficiency with case management software (Clio, ProLaw, or comparable platform) and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage significant workflow assigned by multiple attorneys
Ability to work under tight deadlines and respond to competing and shifting priorities
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to problem-solve and exercise good judgment with strict confidentiality
