Job Description
We are seeking a Litigation Paralegal with 4+ years of experience, including lead‑level responsibility, to support high‑volume charged‑off debt collections litigation in state and local government courts.
This role is ideal for an experienced paralegal who thrives in volume‑driven environments, understands creditor’s rights litigation, and has experience leading workflows, mentoring others, and improving processes.
Responsibilities
Manage the full lifecycle of charged‑off debt collection cases
Oversee high‑volume, multi‑jurisdictional caseloads in state and local courts
Prepare, review, and file pleadings, motions, affidavits, and related documents
Manage service of process, calendaring, hearing preparation, and follow‑ups
Coordinate with attorneys, courts, vendors, and local counsel
Perform asset searches and support post‑judgment enforcement
Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in case‑management systems
Provide guidance, mentoring, or oversight to junior paralegals or support staff
Identify inefficiencies and contribute to process improvement and standardization
Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance standards
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
4+ years of experience in charged‑off debt collections litigation or creditor’s rights
Management, lead, supervisory, or portfolio‑ownership experience required
Demonstrated experience in state and local government courts
Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience with e‑filing systems and legal case‑management software
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with state and local courts
End‑to‑end collections litigation experience (complaint through enforcement)
Experience training, mentoring, or supervising staff
Process improvement or operational leadership experience
