Horace Mann is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical
Operations Analyst
to support continuous improvement and operational excellence across our Life & Retirement business units. In this role, you will evaluate processes, perform quality reviews, and provide insights that drive efficiency, accuracy, and improved business outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of operational workflows, data analysis, and process interdependencies, with the ability to partner across teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Process Analysis & Improvement
Analyze business processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop insights and recommendations based on research and analysis of operational workflows.
Identify relationships between business processes and organizational objectives to support strategic alignment.
Quality Assurance & Performance Monitoring
Perform monthly quality reviewchecks to assess performance and identify trends.
Identify root causes of performance issues and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
Maintain daily/monthly/quarterly/annual controls to ensure compliance, consistency and accuracy across business processes.
Data Management & Reporting
Accurately capture and integrate data from multiple sources into daily workflows.
Analyze data to support business decisions and operational improvements.
Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems and reporting processes.
Collaboration & Business Support
Work directly with business unit managers and frontline operations teams to resolve process issues and implement solutions.
Partner with cross-functional teams to improve workflow efficiency and service delivery.
Provide ongoing support and insights to enhance operational performance and customer outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
H.S. diploma or GED required.
Strong knowledge of Life & Retirement processes, including the lifecycle of a policy or contract.
Working knowledge of processing systems and operational workflows.
Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical mindset with strong data interpretation skills

Pay Range
$24.18 - $33.05
Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
