We are seeking to add a Purchasing Agent / Special-Order assistant to our team! The ideal candidate should possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy with MRO or maintenance purchasing background. Our Purchasing and Special-Order department is a key point of contact with our sales force for pricing and availability as well as some application support.
Responsibilities
Produce and place daily purchase orders
Product sourcing
Non-stock sourcing
Vendor relationship management
Negotiation with suppliers
Analyze inventory and usage
Source, price, and process special-order requests
Communication with sales team members
Qualifications
Supply Chain or Industrial Distribution experience a plus
3+ years’ experience purchasing for an industrial technical product line or other purchasing experience
Prior background with an MRO company preferred
Associates Degree (A.A.) preferred and/or equivalent experience
Good customer service and ability to read, interpret and present technical information with the ability to quickly assimilate technical information
Must have great interpersonal and written communication skills
Experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Strong organizational skills
Reliability
Attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Deadline and detail-oriented
