The Coordinator of Special Projects, Career and Technical Education (CTE) assists with administering instructional workforce related programs and projects. Provides coordination, research assistance, project development and management, and logistical support for initiatives designed to improve program offerings, quality enhancement, completions, student learning and other measurable workforce related outcome indicators. Assists in program development, student learning assessments, program review, accreditation studies and other critical projects.

Essential Functions

Coordinates Florida Department of Education projects, legislative changes that affect programs and curriculum, and other statewide workforce initiatives.

Develops responses to inquiries and assists with the acquisition of data for division accreditation studies and annual reports.

Coordinates the approval process for new degrees, which includes development of the Notice of Intent, labor market data research, Degree Proposal development and college accreditation substantive change approval.

Researches, coordinates, and assists Admissions office and divisional faculty and staff in growing and developing successful career and technical Dual Enrollment and Career Pathways programs.

Reviews curriculum changes to assure they are appropriate and within college and state guidelines and manages the course substitutions process.

Coordinates program reviews and the division’s strategic planning process to recommend program improvement plans.

Determines and assigns work to Career Pathways staff for test development, high school faculty support, Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) systems testing, and evaluation.

Researches, coordinates, and assists with CareerSource Central Florida training matrix updates, summer youth camp, and other joint projects with the community partner.

Assists with the development of articulation agreements, the resolution of transfer credit questions, and other projects and initiatives pertaining to student advancement.

Coordinates with marketing and other College personnel in the preparation of program descriptions and workforce information for publication.

Collaborates to create and seek opportunities for the department and its programs, including grant partnerships, industry relationships, and educational partnerships which advance the college.

Collaborates with Institutional Research in the collection, documentation, and reporting of data and quality indicators/metrics for outcomes assessments.

Manages special project budgets to meet goals.

Performs other duties that may be required or assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.

Three years of experience in higher education.

Desired Qualifications

Master’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.

Three years of experience in managing multiple projects.

Finalists and individuals recommended for employment at Seminole State College must reside in the State of Florida at the time of hire and may be subject to background investigations and fingerprinting in compliance with Florida Statute 1001.64; and Seminole State College Policy 1.020; 2.020. Criminal background checks and fingerprinting will be conducted for all new employees, and for rehired employees who have had a break in service for one year or more.
