Description of Work
In this position, you will supervise staff and inmate workers in the manufacturing, production, or processing of products or services within the re‑upholstery and laser engraving shops. Your work will involve supervising the performance of routine and non‑routine factory work, providing orientation and training to workers assigned to the shops, and preparing inmate workers’ progress reports. You will oversee all phases of product design and development, prepare product samples, and inspect work in progress. Some of your duties will include coordinating the production and delivery of requested products, monitoring inventory levels, and notifying the customer of anticipated shipping dates. Additionally, you will supervise the storage and allocation of materials and supplies, as well as the installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information
Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $58,273.00 (before taxes).

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
One year as a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Four years of experience in the production of goods or services, which includes one year of lead work experience; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of lead work experience in the production of goods or services.
Other Requirements
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
