Job Overview
The registered nurse will provide care for patients in the Emergency Room at Valle Regional Medical Center. Responsibilities include patient triage, medication administration, and assisting in emergency procedures.
Responsibilities
IV insertion, medication administration, EKGs, splinting, and wound care
Moderate sedation for procedures such as reductions or cardioversion
Assisting with intubation, CPR, rapid sequence intubation, and code response
Care of stroke, STEMI, sepsis, trauma, and behavioral health patients
Transport preparation and coordination for higher levels of care
Triage assessment and prioritization based on ESI guidelines
Isolation and infection control protocols
Documentation and reassessment in fast‑paced environments
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a high‑acuity setting
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (TNCC preferred)
Strong triage and critical thinking skills
Trauma and cardiac alert experience, including care of STEMI, stroke, and sepsis patients
Experience with Meditech documentation system preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
