Job Description
Administrative Professional 1

Location: Franklin County, Bureau of Community Sanctions

This position shall be filled in accordance with the OCSEA/AFSCME, Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Job Duties

Works under general supervision and requires extensive knowledge of clerical functions and office procedures.

Oversees warrants, detainers and extradition operations within the Division of Parole & Community Services (DPCS) Adult Parole Authority’s (APA) Field Services Section.

Operates Law Enforcement Automation Data Systems (LEADS) terminal, National Crime Information Center (NCIC) computer, Ohio Court Network (OCN), Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway (OHLEG) & BCI&I terminal to compile and generate reports involving complex technical, legal, statistical and confidential material.

Follows LEADS protocols for warrants, including validating warrants entered by Ohio State Highway Patrol, performing second checks, and adding additional information.

Enters confidential criminal offense data, retrieves information and produces reports from the computer system.

Evaluates available records, creates and maintains files and reports.

Works with Ohio State Highway Patrol Communication Center to maintain warrant files.

Communicates information to staff regarding protection orders and detainer notifications.

Maintains inventory, verifies and updates assets assigned to ODRC permanent staff.

Orders office supplies, goods and equipment; schedules maintenance on office equipment and vehicle fleet hub documentation.

Handles visitor reception, routine requests and phone calls, including after-hours calls from the monitoring center.

Schedules training sessions, other meetings, and processes incoming and outgoing mail and material.

Types routine correspondence, attends meetings, trainings and conferences, and may give presentations and conduct training.

Responds both verbally and in writing to questions and concerns.

Works on special projects or committees as assigned.

Performs other duties as assigned and travels locally as required.

Conducts oneself professionally and in a law‑abiding manner at all times in accordance with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction’s Standards of Employee Conduct.

Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of training or experience in secretarial science or business office applications, or equivalent minimum class qualifications for employment. For positions requiring technical terminology, a minimum of 6 months of training or experience in relevant technical terminology is required.
