
Senior Research Technician (Part-time) - Rheumatology

Position Summary
The Zhao Lab at WashU Medicine is interested in how host-commensal-pathogen interactions influence the development of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. We are seeking a Senior Research Technician with a background in bioinformatics and systems biology to join the group. Appropriate training will be provided. Experience with immunology is encouraged but not required. Performs independently complex research studies, experiments and assays.

Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Performs complex analysis/projects according to research protocols, explaining methods and procedures to other technicians.
Enter data and maintain current data files on research projects. Monitor data to ensure consistent quality.
May perform preliminary statistical analysis of data.
Assure compliance with established safety procedures and maintain required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
Ensure lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.
Assist in the training and development of technicians, acting as a group leader.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Work in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.
Education & Experience
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
Certifications/Professional Licenses
No specific certification/professional license is required for this position.
Work Experience
Laboratory Setting (1 Year)
Driver's License
A driver's license is not required for this position.
