Position
Phlebotomist II – La Palma, CA
Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with rotational weekends.
Pay range: $24.30 – $28.90 per hour.
Requires a state phlebotomy license. Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, or NV.
Job Description
Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
Administer oral solutions as trained.
Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using laboratory technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
Navigating a computer and accurately entering data is required.
Obtain identification, enter billing information, and collect payments when required following corporate policies.
Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
Perform non‑patient‑facing duties such as inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and using email as appropriate.
Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
Assist with compiling and submitting statistics and data when required.
Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner, including maintenance and temperature logs.
Complete online and in‑person training courses promptly.
Responsibilities

Verify and confirm test orders using lab technologies and client data
Accurately enter data and navigate computer systems
Collect identification, billing information, and payments
Label, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze, and prepare specimens for transport
Perform inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and email duties
Adhere to departmental policies, protocols, and procedures
Assist with data and statistics submission
Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance and temperature)
Complete required training courses
Qualifications
Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Keyboard/data entry experience
Flexible and available based on staffing needs (weekends, holidays, on‑call, overtime)
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)
High school diploma or equivalent
Medical training preferred (medical assistant or paramedic)
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
Effective communication skills in English
