What You’ll Do:
The Manufacturing Engineering I 4.0 Intern will be part of a high-performance team that supports the goals of OPEX and Operations by executing projects and driving continuous improvement in manufacturing and office zones.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a key member of high-performance teams to launch continuous improvement activities.
Support I4.0 projects and lead sustainment efforts.
Conduct I4.0 Tool training and assessments to ensure compliance and sustainment of best practices.
Facilitate Kaizen events, problem-solving activities, and driving CIF implementation to achieve High Five goals.
Create Operator Method Sheets (OMS’s) to support Standard Work initiatives.
Create PowerPoint presentations to effectively communicate improvement projects, lessons learned, and reports to leadership.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work with production teams, engineers, and leadership to align I4.0 and Continuous Improvement (CI) goals with business objectives.
Facilitate Training & Workshops: Conduct training sessions on Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement techniques for employees.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigate production issues using methodologies like Fishbone Diagrams and 5-Whys to eliminate recurring problems.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize Power BI, PowerApps, and Microsoft Excel to analyze key performance metrics, trends, and cost‑saving opportunities.
Designed and implemented custom PowerBI dashboards to support Lean manufacturing practices on the shop floor.
Share best practices across the Continuous Improvement Team to enhance knowledge‑sharing.
Identify and prioritize VSM projects, standard work updates, workstation risk assessment improvements, etc.
Develop and maintain efficient manufacturing processes using Eaton Lean Manufacturing principles.
Calculate cost‑out metrics from events, continuous improvement submissions, and process improvements.
Continuously enhance personal skills and knowledge of the subject matters pertaining to the operations initiatives, through networking, education, and training.
Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications
Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program within engineering from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Previous experience conducting training and assessments.
Strong ability to create PowerPoint presentations for CI reports and leadership communication.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and metric tracking.
Familiarity with Power BI for data visualization and manufacturing analytics.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Skills
Ability to prepare facility setups for prototype equipment development and manufacturing process implementation.
Strong troubleshooting skills to assist manufacturing operators and leaders in resolving production issues.
Ability to work independently and contribute to improving workflows and manufacturing efficiency.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience using Power BI and Excel to visualize process improvements.
