Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Medical Biller to manage the full cycle of billing and collections. This role is essential to sustaining our mission by ensuring accurate claims processing, timely reimbursement, and a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee third-party billing process; manage daily claims issues in partnership with third-party biller to resolve issues promptly
Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance carriers (carve-outs only); follow up on denied or unpaid claims
Ensure proper use of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
Collaborate with staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation
Post EOBs to patient accounts; track overpayment debits and capitated plan credits
Manage insurance aging issues
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer requirements and billing regulations, including current fee schedules
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations
Qualifications
5+ years of medical billing experience (outpatient or clinic setting preferred)
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
Experience with EMR and billing systems; experience with InSync/Qualifacts a bonus
Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
