
Pharmacy Resident - Community Based (Full-Time, 40, Varied Shifts)

RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives supervised experience and training at The Queen’s Health System (QHS) in its comprehensive training program in community based pharmacy.
Under guidance of a preceptor, the pharmacy resident will implement, maintain and provide clinical pharmacist services including: clinical, educational and informational functions for newborn, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients of The Queen’s Health System.
Visits and provides clinical pharmacist services to patients in the community.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Finger dexterity. Seeing. Hearing. Speaking.
B. MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING:
Infrequent: N/A
Occasional: Push and Pull between 6-10 lbs.
Frequent: Lift waist to shoulder between 21-35 lbs. Carry between 21-35 lbs.
Constant: N/A
C. NON-MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING:
Infrequent: N/A
Occasional: Kneel. Crawl. Squat. Climb: Stairs/Ladder.
Frequent: Reach: shoulder level. Reach: above head. Gripping.
Constant: Stand. Sit. Walk. Stoop/Bend.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A. EDUCATION:
Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
Current Hawaii State license as a pharmacist. If not licensed upon hire, license must be obtained within three (3) months of entrance into this position.
Current BLS certification.
C. EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated ability to communicate professional expertise to all levels of the healthcare team.
