Role Overview
The Records Specialist 1 role with the Department of Corrections is your chance to support a vital public safety mission! This position helps keep essential inmate information accurate and organized at all times. Your work will help the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Albion operate smoothly and responsibly. Responsibilities
This position supports SCI Albion by maintaining, verifying, and updating inmate records to ensure reliable information is always available. As a Records Specialist 1, you will perform the following duties:

Record Maintenance:

Collect information and review cross-agency data to keep inmate records accurate

Court Documentation:

Review court orders and determine appropriate actions for releases or changes in confinement

Data Updates:

Enter changes into the Inmate Records System following sentence recalculations

Intake Processing:

Assist with interviewing, photographing, and fingerprinting inmates during reception or release

Transport Coordination:

Help arrange transport for court appearances and verify authorization before releasing inmates

Work Schedule and Additional Information

Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework:

You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary:

In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of clerical or correctional custodial experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

You must meet the PA residency requirement.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
