Accounting Clerk
Legends Global, the leader in events and venue management for public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for an Accounting Clerk in Rockford, Illinois. This role offers hands-on exposure to live event accounting and opportunities to grow into more advanced accounting responsibilities. The Accounting Clerk reports to the HR & Accounting Manager and is responsible for the bank activities, accounts payable, and a portion of event settlements. Additional responsibilities include performing monthly journal entries to facilitate the month-end close process, maintenance of accounting files, preparation/organization of various financial forms, reports, general ledger account analysis, and reconciliations, etc., for the BMO Center, Coronado Theatre, and Davis Park.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reconcile bank statements, outstanding checks, cash receipts, and disbursements
Reconcile accounts payable control accounts to aging reports
Assist with event settlements while working closely with Booking, Box Office, and Event Services
Support the tracking of fixed asset activity in detail and input into the accounting module for automatic depreciation generation
Assist in the monthly close process, including bank reconciliations, analysis, and preparation of accruals
Maintain internal audit controls and participate in external audits
Perform other accounting and general office duties as requested
Process vendor invoices, including coding, matching, and entering into the accounting system
Ensure proper approvals and compliance with internal controls
Prepare and execute weekly check runs and ACH payments
Maintain vendor files, W-9 documentation, and payment records
Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries
Verify event-related invoices and reconcile against contracts and agreements

Education and/or Experience
B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Minimum of two (2) years of prior work experience relative to the position preferred
Experience with Microsoft D365 software preferred
Ability to work additional hours and/or weekends upon request
Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of financial accounting
Excellent math skills and attention to details
Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required
Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management and clients
Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Pay Information
$20-$24/HR depending upon experience
This is a full-time hourly non-exempt position.
