The primary function of the Shipping Clerk is to pick/pack customer orders in a safe and effective manner and in accordance with procedure.
Pay rate: $20.00/hour Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:00am-7:00pm This position is fully onsite in Plattsburgh.
The opportunity
Responsibilities & Duties:
Prepare Shipments
Utilize MEDWMS scanners for pick/pack of customer orders as needed
Ensure proper packaging and documentation for Hazardous materials
Monitor all validated shipments and coordinate with Team Leads
Ensure that PPE is maintained at all times according to procedure
Adhere to all cGMPs, practice safe work methods
Coordinate all shipping activities with the Shipping Team Leads
Complete picking/packing processes with quality and accuracy to ensure order fulfillment
Inventory
Ensure shipping stations are stocked properly for operations
Monitor supply levels (cardboard, ice, bubbles, shippers, tape etc.)
Consolidate, ensure all shipping areas are kept clean
eat
Collaborate with all other departments to ensure maximum efficiency
Physical Requirements:
Heavy lifting required at times in excess of 50 lbs
Comfortable performing physical tasks, including bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, squatting, and standing for an extended period of time
Must be able to work in protective equipment (Tyvek suits, respiratory mask, PAPR, gloves, etc.) in compliance with safety standards
Must be able to wear steel toe or composite toe shoes
Must be able to climb ladders on occasion
Must be able to operate power equipment, such as Forklift, Pallet Jacks, Order Pickers, etc.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma required
Minimum one (1) year experience in a warehouse environment, shipping experience in chemical/pharmaceutical or regulated environment is an asset.
Accountable, dependable, team player with great communications skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail is a must
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Knowledge of SYSPRO/MEDWMS an asset
Experience with FEDEX/UPS software an asset
Certification in DOT/IATA an asset
