
Sr Manager, Coman Quality & Food Safety (Dairy, Yogurt, Shakes and Happy Family)

Job Purpose Summary
This position works within Danone’s Quality & Food Safety Department and cross functionally within NORAM Operations. The primary responsibilities are to ensure the Quality and Food Safety of products being produced at third‑party supplier locations in North America.
Essential Responsibilities
Qualify new 3PM manufacturing sites, processes, and new raw and pack materials.
Conduct activities associated with the innovation & renovation process such as technical risk assessments, specification reviews and approvals, documentation reviews, food safety validations and approvals, design assessments, trial support, etc.
Mitigate risk through application of scientific principles, technical experience, and employment of quality and food safety standards.
Collaborate with internal functions including cycles & procurement, research & innovation, environmental health and safety, sustainability, regulatory, food safety, project management, operations and commercialization & industrialization to deliver products that meet Danone’s standards.
Design and install appropriate controls, sample plans, hold/release system modifications, code rotation, batching and processing controls, and other production systems that will reduce variability and improve product consistency.
Plan and conduct 3PM audit management, write reports, follow up action plans and continue improvement activities as needed.
Support plant operations related to supply quality.
Problem‑solve, resolve supplier issues and claims, and follow up on issues to ensure corrective actions are completed.
Manage reporting and scorecards.
Utilize Six Sigma, Lean, and/or other continuous improvement concepts to improve quality, efficiency, and waste.
Stay current with regulatory and certifying agency guidelines and relevant Danone standards.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in science, food science/technology or a similar major.
7+ years of combined experience with ingredients, food packaging, quality and manufacturing processes.
Advanced understanding of quality & food safety systems and current food regulations.
Solid understanding of plant production systems, manufacturing equipment, GMP, SPC, sanitation and EHS.
Experience auditing suppliers and a demonstrated ability to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
Experience in problem solving and driving conflict resolution, including financial claims resolution.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Collaborative and leadership ability.
Ability to work under deadlines with multiple priorities.
Adaptable and flexible.
Self‑driven, results‑oriented, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently.
Ability to handle confidential materials.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in food or food packaging research and innovation.
Prior or present responsibility as QA Manager/Engineer for a food manufacturing facility.
Working knowledge of SAP and/or similar ERP databases.
Technical knowledge of baby foods and formulas (great asset).
Travel
Estimated at 30% – 50%.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $111,000–160,000 USD. The exact salary offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions.
