
Service Manager

Sunbelt Rentals seeks an energetic Service Manager to oversee timely and effective servicing of company and customer equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage repair and maintenance of company owned and customer equipment, including organization of yard status (Ready to Rent, Returned, Down).
Prepare work schedules and handle service calls to meet customer needs and ensure equipment availability.
Order parts to maintain adequate supplies.
Provide training and assistance to staff mechanics.
Work with equipment vendors to learn maintenance requirements and capabilities of new equipment.
Evaluate equipment after repairs, maintenance or safety checks.
Document equipment status before and after rental.
Handle customer complaints regarding equipment condition or operation.
Promote safety awareness and perform quality control checks.
Maintain and organize equipment service records.
Create, update, close and bill work orders.
File warranty claims in a timely fashion.
Commission new equipment.
Manage parts inventory, return parts, and perform parts inventory.
Disposal of solid and hazardous material waste (batteries, used oil & filters, antifreeze, wash sludge).
Prepare reports covering service status, inventory, warranty claims, financial trending, shop foreman performance, work‑order chargeback, PO report, and tech paid hours vs. worked hours.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license.
Extensive experience in repair and maintenance of self‑propelled platforms and lifts.
Knowledge of work planning, scheduling and supervisory activities.
Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements.
Clear perspective of maintenance and repair issues in the industry.
Planning and management experience.
Computer literacy.Reporting experience.
Inventory management experience.
Physical Demands
The role requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors and outdoors as required.

Base Pay Range
$61,551.00 - $73,092.05 (starting rate may vary by location, education, training, and experience).
