
Import Supply Chain Coordinator

Job Summary
The Import Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing import activities from international suppliers—specifically from the Dominican Republic to the United States—to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of goods. This role works closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to support end-to-end supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage import shipments from the Dominican Republic to U.S. ports and distribution centers
Prepare, review, and maintain import documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin
Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, tariffs, and import laws
Communicate with customs brokers and freight forwarders to resolve clearance issues and delays
Track shipments and provide status updates to internal stakeholders
Monitor inventory movement and support demand and production planning as needed
Identify opportunities to improve transit times, reduce costs, and optimize import processes
Maintain accurate records and reports related to shipments, costs, and vendor performance
Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, accounting, and warehouse teams
Required Qualifications
2+ years of experience in import logistics, supply chain coordination, or international trade
Hands-on experience importing goods from the Dominican Republic or Latin America to the U.S.
Working knowledge of Incoterms, customs documentation, and international freight processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and supply chain or ERP systems
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required
Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders
Knowledge of HTS codes and duty drawback processes

Work Schedule
8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday with flexibility for overtime as needed.
Pay Information
Temp rate: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour. Permanent salary: $60,000.
