Position
Bilingual Social Worker – Early Start (San Francisco Office)

Responsibilities

Conduct needs assessment and develop, implement, and coordinate Family Service Plan for families of clients aged 0–3.

Act as advocate and service coordinator to clients and families, ensuring receipt of entitled services and achievement of client rights.

Partner with families to problem‑solve and build on family strengths and natural supports.

Develop action plans for community resources, provide referrals, and monitor progress of referrals and services.

Provide intake services, crises management, and developmental activities to enhance child development.

Research community resources and services; initiate referrals; participate in community and internal meetings and task forces.

Maintain client records, case and Title XIX progress notes, prepare Special Incident Reports, and ensure compliance with program policies and California regulations.

Coordinate transition from Early Start services to local school districts or other community programs.

Travel locally within San Francisco County and occasionally statewide; reliable transportation required.

Fluency in both reading and speaking Spanish is required.

Requirements
Who You Are

Experience in multicultural settings and/or multilingual capacity.

Knowledge of identifying and navigating generic services.

Knowledge of principles, objectives, and techniques of counseling individuals.

Knowledge of typical and atypical child development behavior and human growth and family relationship dynamics.

Knowledge of state and federal legislation concerning Early Start regulations and services for high‑risk infants and their families.

Good interview skills and team spirit.

Ability to balance conflicting priorities and focus on key job outcomes.

Ability to proactively stay current with new information in area of expertise.

Excellent communication skills in producing documents in a business manner and conveying complex information clearly, concisely, and professionally.

Familiarity with MS Office or similar software applications.

Creativity and problem‑solving skills.

Organizational skills and time management.

Crisis management and decision‑making ability.

Empathic and able to respect and support cultural awareness.

Bilingual Social Worker Requirements

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of social welfare or related human services field; Master's Degree preferred.

Case management experience with infants or children under 4 strongly preferred.

Ability to speak clearly and be understood by native Spanish speakers, and to understand relevant spoken/written dialects, as appropriate.
