
Student Organization and Engagement Program Coordinator

Overview
The Student Organization and Engagement Program Coordinator supports a vibrant and inclusive campus community by coordinating student programs, advising student organizations, and enhancing co‑curricular learning experiences. The role leads marketing and outreach efforts, supports signature campus events, and fosters student leadership development.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support and programming for Student Organizations: advise on programs, policies, leadership, conflict management, club registration, and training; design and deliver workshops and seminars; assist with club funding through ASMSU; collaborate with ASMSU Funding Board and Business Office.
Lead marketing and outreach: promote Anthology and NavEngage engagement software (CatsConnect) and co‑curricular experiences; develop and update marketing materials including web content; manage social media communication; identify new outreach opportunities and adjust operations.
Support office operations and student‑focused events: assist in planning and execution of events such as MSU Debut, Catapalooza, Day of Student Recognition, and Service Saturdays; design new programming; maintain use of engagement software; collaborate with staff and leadership for tailored programs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in public speaking, event planning and hosting, marketing, and outreach.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic marketing tools.
Knowledge of marketing strategies, including social media, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or web content management systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with professional graphic design implementation and outreach/social media platforms.
Demonstrated ability to organize workloads, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of professional experience in higher education, nonprofit, or public organizations.
Experience planning, implementing, and assessing student development and leadership programming.
Experience advising student organizations and supervising student employees.
Familiarity with engagement platforms such as Anthology and NavEngage.
Experience developing and facilitating leadership trainings or workshops.
Competence using generative AI tools in a professional context.
Successful Candidate Will
