
Pulmonary Function Specialist (County Promotional)

Position Summary
Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is hiring a Pulmonary Function Specialist to conduct pulmonary function tests. The role requires setting up equipment, preparing patients, performing spirometry, equilibrium testing, diffusion determinations, plethysmography, and administering bronchodilators.
Responsibilities
Conduct medically prescribed pulmonary function tests, including vital capacity, total lung capacity, residual volume, and airflow measurements.
Set up, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment used in pulmonary testing.
Prepare patients for testing by reviewing history and explaining procedures.
Perform spirometry, open and closed circuit equilibrium testing, diffusion determinations, and body plethysmography.
Administer bronchodilator aerosol and repeat tests to provide comparative data.
Qualifications
Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the California State Respiratory Care Board.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Health Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Three years experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner or four years as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care hospital.
Preferred: Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
