Software Engineer (4) - Premium Senior Engineer #1055492
Job Description
Are you a high‑performing software engineer who loves to code but is also ready to steer the technical direction of a product?
Responsibilities
The Global Health & Safety (GHS) team is seeking an Anchor Software Engineer to lead the development of critical applications that impact the safety and well‑being of employees worldwide.
At the company, the Anchor is the technical heartbeat of the "Balanced Team." Unlike traditional lead roles that move away from the keyboard, the Anchor stays "in the code," writing software while serving as a mentor, architect, and strategic partner to Product Management and Design.
Lead by example within a Lean, Agile, and eXtreme Programming (XP) environment, ensuring technical health, continuity, and high‑quality delivery.
The Anchor will work both in a project and an operational support role as needed.
The primary focus is the project.
Guide and give direction to both company and supplier resources.
Support two applications for global occupational health and safety offices.
Transition from multiple fragmented applications into at least two primary global applications.
One application is underway; the second is new.
Anchor Mindset
Humble Leadership: technically capable and still willing to pair and learn.
Problem Solver: thrive on solving complex problems and optimizing performance and resiliency.
Effective Communicator: translate complex technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders and collaborate across functional boundaries.
Technical Proficiencies
Back‑End: Java (Spring Cloud/Boot), Python, or C#; building RESTful APIs and microservices.
Front‑End: modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js), HTML5, CSS3, responsive design (e.g., Bootstrap), basic UX principles.
Cloud/DevOps: GCP, OpenShift, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Tekton, Maven, or Gradle), Git, GitHub.
Data Management: SQL/NoSQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB), schema‑migration tools (Liquibase).
Security: OAuth, EntraID authentication flows, SPII/PII data handling, quality‑control and security tools like 42 Crunch, FOSSA, etc.
