Ready Mix Concrete Internship (May - August 2026) - Austin, TX
Texas Materials is a locally‑based construction company and building materials supplier that is part of CRH, the largest asphalt, ready‑mix, and aggregates producer in North America. The internship offers hands‑on experience in ready‑mix concrete operations across Austin and San Antonio region plants.
Qualifications
Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Desired GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with teammates and supervisors.
Valid driver’s license and personal transportation; mileage reimbursement provided.
Knowledge and Skills
Adhere to all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Texas Materials.
Complete daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre‑shifts, JSA’s, TRACK, etc.).
Assist with day‑to‑day plant operations, including batching and mixing processes.
Identify opportunities for process improvements.
Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and reports to determine production requirements.
Execute other duties as assigned.
Work Requirements
Pass a pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check.
Pass a pre‑employment "Fit for Work" physical.
Provide valid documentation for I‑9 immigration verification.
Adhere to personnel handbook safety procedures.
Wear personal protective equipment in designated production areas.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Work in varying environments and weather conditions.
Be flexible with work locations (travel/relocation required).
