
Registered Nurse 1 Psychiatric (Creedmoor ATC) (night shift)

Duties Description
Provides direct nursing care to clients, including comprehensive admission assessments, dispensing medication, providing physician-ordered medical treatment, transcribing orders, and collecting specimens for laboratory analysis or culture.
Provides health education to clients, monitors client behavior, and participates in treatment planning.
Assesses the needs of clients and identifies potential obstacles to success.
Handles crisis intervention with clients (psychological, physiological, and behavioral).
Maintains accurate and detailed reports and records electronically and/or physically.
May provide clinical supervision to licensed, paraprofessional, and direct care personnel (e.g., Addiction Counselors) and assist with administrative supervision (developing performance standards); may serve as shift supervisor on evening or night shifts.
May assist in general client care activities, such as meal preparation & distribution and room preparation.
Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment, monitors clients, and ensures building security.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Permanent status as a Registered Nurse 1 (Psychiatric) or Registered Nurse 2 (Psychiatric), or a nurse eligible under the NY HELPS program.
Possession of a current valid nursing license and registration to practice nursing in New York State.
Eligibility to participate in Medicaid and Medicare programs; must maintain licensure, certification, and eligibility.
Ability to work mandatory overtime as required, including 24/7/365 coverage.
Background investigation will be conducted in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Acceptance of required shift and holiday differentials, and location pay as applicable.
Will be eligible for full and unconditional participation in the agency’s benefits program.
