Job Description
This summer internship opportunity seeks an undergraduate student majoring in electronics, materials engineering, or physics with experience in thin film material deposition and materials characterization. The candidate will work with scientists at the Wright Patternson Air Force Base in the Air Force Research Labs; U.S. Citizenship is required.

The candidate will perform 2D material sample fabrication (substrate preparation, mechanical exfoliation, optical contrast characterization) and characterization including Raman spectroscopy, photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, and atomic force microscopy (AFM) for various ferroic 2D materials. A background in condensed matter physics, materials science and engineering is preferred, and experience with AFM, Raman, and/or PL characterization is a plus.

This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). Applicants must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR/EAR, or be approved for an export license. Certain positions require current U.S. Citizenship due to contract requirements.
