Overview
We are seeking an
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) , also referred to as an Emergency Response Technician or First Responder in our emergency room. An EMT is essential in providing immediate medical care and support. They conduct initial patient assessments, perform basic life support procedures like CPR, and monitor vital signs to stabilize patients upon arrival. EMTs also manage wound care, assist in patient transportation within the hospital, and work closely with ER staff to ensure coordinated care.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
Deliver high-quality, immediate patient care by utilizing EMT training to administer basic life support, stabilize patients, and respond swiftly to medical emergencies in a fast-paced clinical environment
Perform detailed patient assessments to evaluate vital signs, symptoms, and medical history, ensuring timely identification of urgent needs and accurate communication with the healthcare team
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals to contribute to an integrated care approach, promoting continuity and efficiency in patient treatment plans
Assist in triaging patients upon arrival by assessing the severity of their condition and supporting decisions on prioritization of care based on clinical protocols
Maintain precise and thorough documentation of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR), supporting legal compliance and clinical continuity
Inspect and manage emergency medical equipment and supplies to ensure optimal functionality, cleanliness, and availability, contributing to a safe and prepared emergency care environment
Qualifications
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014. 2. Basic EMT Training or E.R. experience required. 3. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):
Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
Current PALS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.
