The School of Communication in the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts at San Diego State University is accepting applications for part‑time lecturer positions. The appointments may be full‑time or part‑time, with short‑notice availability. The first term starts in August (Fall) and February (Spring), with potential summer teaching opportunities. Initial appointments are typically one semester (or one academic year) and may be renewed based on satisfactory evaluations and continued availability. Applicants remain on the applicant pool during the academic year they apply.

Minimal Qualifications:
Master’s degree in communication with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in communication or a closely related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours.
Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.
Previous teaching experience in an online environment.
Prior relevant experience as a communication professional.
Compensation
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background. Most new appointees are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank and placed at the beginning of the range.
Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224
Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523
Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211
