
Production Welder

Job Description
The Royal Group (TRG) currently has a position open for a Production Welder in Sidney, Ohio. A welder is responsible for assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components using heavy machinery that emits high heat. Their duties include reviewing blueprints to ensure squareness, dimensional tolerances, and other attributes defined in the specifications; performing spot and finish welding into the appropriate shapes.
Responsibilities
Read and understand blueprints/drawings
Follow company safety, quality and plant rules and regulations
Wire feed MIG welding
Griding and assembly as needed
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Maintain positive working relationships with employees and peers
Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations
Additional duties as assigned
Required Education / Experience
High school diploma or GED
Technical Skills
Vocational/technical certification
Fabricating
Welding
Read blueprints/drawings
Ability to learn and follow instructions
Language Skills
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from local management team
Ability to communicate through written and verbal language
Mathematical Skills
Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
Able to apply concepts of high school math
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Physical Demands
Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. Noise level in the work environment can be usually loud. Employee must use steel-toed boots and other provided PPE.
