Position Overview
The DCS/DDS Engineering Tech supports NSWG-8 Intermediate Maintenance Detachment (IMD) in Little Creek, Virginia by providing hands‑on technical support for Dry Combat Submersible (DCS) and Dry Deck Shelter (DDS) maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, testing, and sustainment activities. This role helps ensure systems and components are maintained in accordance with technical requirements, supports advanced technology installation and testing, evaluates equipment deficiencies and long‑term sustainability issues, and provides mechanical support in coordination with Government personnel and other organizations supporting common project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Provide onsite hands‑on maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for DCS/DDS systems and related equipment.

Ensure assigned work is completed in accordance with required technical specifications and quality standards.

Install and test advanced submarine technology and associated systems.

Evaluate system deficiencies, equipment condition, and sustainment issues affecting submarine and submersible systems and components.

Provide mechanical support while coordinating with Government personnel and other agencies on shared project requirements.

Operate Government vehicles, including vans, cars, and pickup trucks, as required.

Operate classes 1–5 forklifts and class 7 forklifts in support of assigned maintenance and material‑handling tasks.

Operate categories 1–4 cranes when assigned and properly certified.

Obtain or maintain a CDL-A license when assigned to operate Government trucks requiring CDL-A certification for specific positions listed below.

Not all Engineering Technicians require Crane/watercraft or CDL components.

Minimum of 4 years of technical experience, supply chain administration experience, and experience using Microsoft Office suite products.

High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of related experience, or BA/BS with 1 year of related experience.

Certified/licensed to operate classes 1–5 forklifts and class 7 forklifts.

Active Secret Clearance required.

Prior military submersible technical and/or electrical experience preferred.

Engineering Technician (Forklift & Crane Certified) — X2
Job Duty Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of technical experience, supply chain administration experience, and experience using Microsoft Office suite products.

High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of related experience, or BA/BS with 1 year of related experience.

Certified/licensed to operate classes 1–5 forklifts, class 7 forklifts, and categories 1–4 cranes.

Active Secret Clearance required.

Prior military submersible technical and/or electrical experience preferred.
