
Higher Education Business Analyst 1 (Project Assistant)

Duties Description
Research and elicit requirements while adhering to established standards and utilizing all necessary deliverables.
Conduct studies, analyze, and evaluate all required "as-is" and "to-be" processes and flows needed for the new system.
Document business process deficiencies requiring resolution during and after implementation.
Work with vendor, agency staff and stakeholders to collect, analyze, define, and document business and functional requirements.
Develop training materials related to business systems implementation for users and write procedure manual.
Assist with business process analysis, business process reengineering, and developing workflow processes.
Work with the project team on defect identification, resolution, and testing.
Create and maintain requirement traceability documents.
Prepare use cases, business requirements documents (BRDs), flowcharts, process models and test cases.
Assist with validating solutions that meet business needs by developing, maintaining, and executing test plans, test cases, and test data utilizing HP ALM (agency test tool).
Work with selected vendor(s) to ensure that quality software integration and application functionality is being properly tested end to end.
Participate in quality reviews and deliverable acceptance discussions, participate in functional and user acceptance testing.
Assist with defining deliverable acceptance criteria and participate in deliverable acceptance review sessions.
Participate in risk identification, risk mitigation, and issue escalation activities, schedule development and management, and change process management.
Assist the project team with data migration analysis and data cleansing tasks.
Provide ongoing support to business units and other entities using the Grants and Scholarship systems.
Analyze the impact of changes to IT system requirements or business processes.
Ensure system award rules meet eligibility requirements and adhere to legislative mandates.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Five years of Business Analysis Experience, with at least 50% of duties involving one or more of the following knowledge areas:
Using recognized business analysis methodologies to elicit requirements from business users as the basis for solutions to organizational needs.
Describing in a comprehensive written document (e.g., business case, fit-gap analysis, or functional specification) what the system, process, or product/service must do to fulfill business requirements.
Using recognized business analysis methodologies (e.g., business process flows, fit-gap analyses, or functional designs) to design solutions that improve business process efficiency and effectiveness.
Documenting, communicating, and validating requirements throughout development lifecycle for changes that enable the organization to achieve goals.
Developing test scenarios, scripts, and data; reviewing test results; and assessing solution implementation to ensure performance meets specifications.
An associate's degree may substitute two years of required experience.
A bachelor's degree may substitute four years of required experience.
A master's degree may substitute five years of required experience.
