Project Overview
Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. The Ohio One project will develop Phase 1, totaling 2.5 million square feet, including 600,000 square feet of cleanrooms. Construction will require the amount of steel equivalent to eight Eiffel Towers and the amount of concrete equal to the tallest skyscrapers.

Job Summary
The Truss Program Manager is responsible for all activities within the Truss scope. In this role, you will manage the organization and direction of project construction activities, oversee construction craft personnel, cost and schedule, and ensure project operations are compliant, safe, timely, within scope and budget.

Major Responsibilities

Manage the organization and direction of construction for all Structural steel, Structural pre‑assembly, and installation programs.

Oversee all structural activities and actions of Bechtel craft and subcontractors.

Supervise other Structural superintendents.

Manage area expenditures for labor, equipment, material, and services, ensuring field operations stay within budget.

Establish project field procedures and objectives in alignment with corporate policies and site conditions.

Develop, implement, and administer a jobsite security plan coordinating with corporate security, safety, and quality departments.

Ensure execution of Project Automation Plan, Environmental Compliance Plan, safety plan, site survey plan, non‑manual staffing plan, subcontracting plan, labor strategy, Construction Execution Plan, and job‑site work rules.

Plan and implement procedures to ensure construction meets engineering designs and specifications.

Monitor and direct subcontractor activities, coordinating with subcontractor management staff.

Review and monitor project construction schedules, resource charts, material and equipment requirements.

Approve project construction methods, schedules, manpower charts, and material and equipment requirements where necessary.

Lead structural construction operations to align with overall schedules and stakeholder interfaces.

Coordinate with stakeholders or subcontractors to plan construction schedules.

Review project controls documents for cost and schedule progress.

Participate in preparing and reviewing field change documents and requests for information.

Support contracts by verifying change notices and amendments.

Ensure work methods are planned and executed safely.

Promote continuous learning and pursue appropriate educational activities.

Support Structural Advance Work Packaging (AWP) efforts.

Set team priorities and coordinate work activities with other supervisors.

Provide feedback on hiring or firing responsibilities as applicable.

Monitor installation of materials and equipment to assure conformity with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements.

Enforce policies, procedures, and work rules established by field construction management.

Implement Zero Accident Philosophy and ensure safety of craft and others in operational areas, ensuring tools and equipment are safe.

Collaborate with Superintendents, Field Engineers, and Field leadership for interpreting engineering design documents and vendor documents.

Coordinate engineering solutions with subcontractors, superintendents, and field leadership.

Coordinate with design on constructability issues.

Maintain a safe work ethic and work environment within the craft.

Education And Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or international equivalent) and 13‑15 years of relevant experience, or 17‑19 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge And Skills

Experience with large‑scale, complex structural builds.

Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.

Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.

Excellent communication and problem‑solving ability.

Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams.

Commitment to environmental, safety, and health (ES&H) principles.

Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.

Ability to work extended work schedules and night shift as required.

Commitment to fostering a safe work ethic and work environment within the craft.
