Assistant Fall Cheer Coach

Welcome to Ames Community School District. We are seeking an Assistant Fall Cheer Coach for the 2026 season.
Work Schedule
2-3 hours per day (4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m) Monday‑Friday with various nights and weekends during the season.
Responsibilities
Supports the Head Cheer Coach while instructing athletes about the fundamentals of cheer.
Attends all practices and coaches at an individual, small group, and team level.
Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
Communicates effectively with coaching staff, student‑athletes, parents, and school administration.
Participates in special events including banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
Abides by strict confidentiality at all times.
Assists with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Current Iowa Department of Education coaching authorization.
Experience coaching cheer at the youth, middle school, or high school level preferred.
Information on obtaining coaching authorization: Coaching Authorization Iowa BOEE, K-12 Coaching in Iowa.
The Successful Candidate Will Exhibit
Ability to create a sense of belonging and a welcoming environment for all athletes, families, and staff.
Punctual and consistent work attendance.
Compensation
$2,829 season stipend.
