Job Description - MEDICAL ASSISTANT (MONTGOMERY, AL) (T234996)
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, perform clinical procedures to prepare patients and/or research participants for treatment or research protocol. Assist physician or other healthcare team member with completion of treatment/protocol. Perform simple, non-invasive patient procedures according to applicable policy and/or protocol. May perform various clerical and/or lab duties as requested. Respond to the unique needs of all patients ages newborn through geriatric.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform clinical duties including non-invasive procedures such as taking vital signs, preparing patient for exams, preparing exam rooms; and simple invasive procedures including lab activities such as injections and sample collection
Perform clerical duties such as appointment scheduling with consulting physicians; follow up on lab results and pharmacy interactions
Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $15.00 - $17.00
LOCATED ON SITE IN MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment. Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required.
