Job Overview
As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you’ll work closely with nurses to provide hands‑on care and support to patients. Some of your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with personal hygiene, including bathing, brushing teeth, toileting, and changing linens
Helping patients with mobility, repositioning, and transfers
Monitoring and recording vital signs
Must be able to safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
Documenting important information in patient charts
Providing compassionate care, including support for patients nearing the end of life
This role involves exposure to bodily fluids and dynamic and sensitive situations. If you’re compassionate, resilient, and detail-oriented, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring quality care and making a real difference in our patients' lives.
Unit Description
As a Level II Trauma Center, this 44‑bed unit provides care to a wide variety of patients who have traumatic injuries and/or surgeries related to trauma, neurological, and orthopedic accidents. ONTCC is recognized for its engaged Healthy Work Environment, Unit Based Council, and motivated nursing management team. The staff on ONTCC prides themselves on excellent teamwork and dedication to high quality patient care. This unit welcomes the opportunity to educate new nurses and often has students complete clinicals on the unit due to the learning experiences, wide variety of patient population, and nursing expertise. Required: Certifications/Licenses/Education
Basic Life Support: Health Care Provider, within six months of hire.
Completion of a high school education or equivalent (GED) preferred
Successfully complete PCT classes as required by care center/unit.
