Texas Oncology is looking for a

Certified

Medical Assistant

to join our team at the Paris location. This is a full‑time position with typical hours Monday‑Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The role may be Level 1, 2, or Sr based on candidate experience.

Long‑Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)
LTIP is an incentive program that typically vests over three years and is tied to individual performance and company success. Participation is discretionary, reviewed annually, and requires continued employment through the award payment date.

Responsibilities

Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.

Record patient data before each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.

Obtain all necessary patient records as required by the physician before treatment or procedures.

Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.

Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.

Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by RN or physician.

Maintain exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.

Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.

Pharmacy phone prescriptions and other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.

Inform physician of patient reschedules and no‑shows.

Perform other administrative duties (typing, filing faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc.) as requested by supervisor or physician.

May enter orders under a provider's direction and supervision.

Qualifications
Level 1

High school graduate or equivalent.

Certificate of graduation from an accredited medical assistant program preferred.

0–3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.

Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.

Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

Comply with state regulations that may require specific certifications.

Level 2 (in addition to Level 1 requirements)

Minimum three years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.

Phlebotomy experience preferred.
Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

Level Sr (in addition to Level 1 and 2 requirements)

Minimum five years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting.

Current CPR certification required.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, and standing/walking for extensive periods. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Work Environment
Work environment characteristics include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
