Licensed Practical Nurse

General Description
This position performs the primary functions of a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Outpatient Clinic, including assessment, planning, and implementation of patient care. The nurse is accountable for all patient care provided during a shift and is responsible for maintaining supplies and equipment under the direction of the RN in charge of the unit. The role promotes teamwork with physicians and staff from other departments. A thorough knowledge of growth and development, nursing principles (physical and psychosocial), procedures, skills, and techniques is required, as well as an understanding of ongoing internal relationships related to Licensed Practical Nursing. Venipuncture experience is required. Mandatory overtime is an essential job function. Applicants must successfully complete a criminal background check and a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees are subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies. Welch Community Hospital is a tobacco‑free campus.

Licensure/Certifications: Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses.
