
Certified Nursing Assistant - Full Time - Night Shift - Chabert Campus

This role works collaboratively to maintain patient safety and provide basic patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. The employee may provide constant observation of the patient, notify nursing personnel of changes in behavior or status, intervene as needed to maintain patient safety, and perform all functions delegated by the nurse staff in accordance with policies and procedures.
Education
Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience
Preferred: Hospital and telemetry experience.
Certifications
Current state of practice Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) (Required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association to be obtained within 30 days from hire (Required)
Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) to be obtained within 30 days from hire (Required)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent time‑management skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).
Job Duties
Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas.
Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multidisciplinary teams.
Completes documentation of patient‑related tasks.
Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and adapting communication style.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical and Environmental Demands
Medium work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands may include walking or standing to a significant degree, pushing and/or pulling of materials, and routine exposure to blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases.
